Straight Up, Raw Sketching

There are literally thousands of sketch blogs to view on the Internet. The subject matter and drawing styles seem infinite--inspiration abounds! What's particularly cool (sometimes very educational) is reading about each artist's process; their struggles, triumphs, and experimentation with materials and techniques. Also helpful are readers' comments and feedback about an artist's sketch. Just a sampling of refreshing sketch blogs (lots more to come):

Ryan's Sketchez
Ryan's approach to drawing is positive and honest. His relentless pursuit of everyday objects has produced lots and lots of sketches. Straight to the point: this guy loves to draw!

Andrea Joseph
Each one of Andrea's sketchbook pages is an unexpected delight to look at. She also likes to write about her experiences with drawing, making for a valuable educational experience for other sketchers.

Ken's Sketch Journal
If urban sketching is your passion, then Ken Foster's blog will prove to be quite inspirational. It seems that his book is in hand everywhere he goes.

James Jean
Without doubt, James Jean is one of my favorite contemporary artists. His sketchbooks are lucid depictions of everyday life. Whenever I look at his finished artwork (wall-sized pencil drawings) I simply want to start drawing.
